Cameron Highlands

I changed the style for this post to have more pictures than words. It is only fair enough to display the true beauty of Cameron Highlands through the pictures I took.

I traveled from Malacca to Kuala Lumpur on a bus then I took another from Kuala Lumpur to Cameron Highlands. The trip was about 7 hours total. Cameron Highlands is located way above sea-level. The bus spent most of the time ascending to the city located on high grounds. We reached Cameron Highlands at night, we then went for dinner. During my stay at Cameron Highlands, I went up on three different Jungle Walks, but the longest Jungle walk was path 1. I went up with my two travel buddies, The Moroccan guy and the German girl.

My two travel companions
It took us two and half hours to climb the highest point on Mount Brinchang. The distance was 2032 meters. It was a very complicated climb because the ground was very slippery at some points and it was easy to get lost. After we got to the summit, we climbed down from the other side of the mountain which was easier because the ground was paved, but it was steep so we had to take our time since we were very tired. As we went down, we passed the tea plantations and strawberry plantations. Once we got down, we hitchhiked from Brinchang to Tana Rata where our hostel was.

Walking through this jungle felt like I was walking into a jungle during the Vietnam war or walking through the Amazon forest. It was very hot and sticky, and there were so many mosquitoes and other insects. You can hear the insect sounds at the end of the video below.
